[ID:0944]This section has shown the many ways of working internationally for Uncle Sam aside from and in addition to the well-known ones (Defense, the CIA, Peace Corps) and the four foreign service agencies (State, USAID, Commerce and Agriculture). There are many more agencies where employees spend much of their time on international issues, and it is best to research all of these opportunities, as they can provide excellent experience and rewarding careers in themselves.
Previous government and/or military service is very helpful in making oneself marketable for a federal career, but there are also many more ways of doing just that. The government has never been more open to creating internships and student opportunities than it has been in recent years.
