Canadian Federal, Provincial & Territorial Government Profiles
Canadian Federal, Provincial & Territorial Government Profiles (60)
These profiles cover a range of international opportunities in government departments and agencies. In terms of the Canadian government's international activities, this list is extensive and exhaustive – every entity which could conceivably have an international component is listed. Many of these organizations and agencies recruit outside the Public Service Commission and their approaches are noted explicitly in each profile. (RELATED SECTION: Be sure to read Canadian Government if you are not familiar with the Canadian Government's major departments and operations.)
In this list, we also profile those provincial and territorial ministries, departments and agencies that offer international opportunities, however limited. Given shared jurisdiction in many areas, particularly trade, immigration and economic development, there can be many places where there are valuable skills to be gained working in provincial or territorial governments. The larger provinces employ international affairs analysts, often in their intergovernmental ministries or cabinet offices.
