[ID:0922]Aside from the Executive Branch, both Congress and the Judiciary have some agencies with little-known international work.
Congressional Agencies
The US Congress has established several organizations, entities and agencies within the legislative branch, some of which offer interesting careers for public sector work and some have an international focus. Note that Congress employs more than 60,000 people to support the work of Senators and US Representatives.
The key agencies which are non-partisan and have excellent potential for internationally-related work (although most of it is in DC) are:
- Library of Congress: Congressional Research Service (CRS) [4,000 employees]
- US Government Accountability Office (GAO) [3,300 employees]
- Congressional Budget Office (CBO) [230 employees]
- US-China Economic and Security Review Commission [25 employees]
