Listen up, Canadians: On June 13th, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced the launch of an exciting new scholarship program specifically geared towards promoting international experiences for students!

The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarships program, which is an initiative honouring the Queen's 60 years of service to Canada, will grant scholarships for undergraduate- and graduate-level students to travel to developing Commonwealth nations and undertake internships or academic study.

These days, there's an app for just about everything! And there are some fantastic apps to help you access useful information while abroad. It's worth conducting a search for international travel and study abroad apps before heading overseas (if you're going to a country with widespread Internet access, that is). A simple search will bring up currency converter apps, weather map apps, friend finders, hotel/hostel finders and so much more. One app we love is AllSubway, which links you up to subway maps in cities around the world.
