[ID:0506]The Middle East has been a hot job market for 50 years and will continue to be a hot spot for the next 50 years or until the region runs out of oil.
Most jobs in this region are in the Gulf oil states, with strong demand for skilled labor ranging from doctors and nurses to oil rig workers and telecommunications engineers.
To be sure, nowadays job applications from the West outstrip the number of jobs available—but it remains a good place to look for work, despite the increasing risks involved. An advantage is that many agencies in the oil states hire westerners directly: a telecommunications engineer can apply directly to Saudi Telephone for a job.
